Who Are Those Guys? - Modesto Blanch



Modesto Blanch Ferrer was born on November 1, 1909 in Madrid, Madrid, Spain. He was the brother of actress Montserrat Blanch [1903-1995] actor José [1904-1996] and uncle of actor Jaime Blanch [1940- ]. His first work as an actor was in the theater. After being involved in the Spanish Civil War, along with other actors, he appeared in “Fairy Tales” (1947), with Mari Carmen Diaz de Mendoza, and the operetta “Princess of Fire” (1948) with Thomas Maruja “Pilate's Wife” (1956), with Mariano Asquerino “Proceso al escándalo” (1964), with Carlos Mendy and “Mala semilla” (1965) with Irene Gutiérrez Caba.
 
He made ​​his film debut at the late age of 40; with a small role in the film “El Santuario” (1949). For more than thirty years he appeared in over a dozen titles, always in supporting roles in such films as; “La violetera” (1958), “Más bonita que ninguna” (1965) and “El bosque del lobo” (1970). He appeared in two Euro-westerns: “The Last of the Mohicans” (1965) and “Al oeste de Rio Grande” (1983).
 
He was a television pioneer in Spain, and was a regular face in TVE for more than 30 years since the beginning of the medium in the 1950s.
 
Blanch died in Madrid, Spain on April 7, 1990 at the age of 80.
