Happy 60th Birthday Antonio Ruiz

Antonio Ruiz Escaño was born on October 24, 1951 in Malaga, Spain. In 1965 when the filming of "For a Few Dollars More" was going on in Almeria, Sergio Leone was looking for a young boy to play the role of Fernando, who would assist The Man With No Name in keeping an eye out for strangers who came to El Paso. He discovered Antonio hanging around the Hotel Costasol and he was hired for the role. The good looking young boy became a regular as a child actor for a few years in films made in the Almeria area. He would appear in 8 Euro-westerns over the years as an actor and stuntman, including "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and "A Bullet for the General" (both 1966). He became a stuntman and president of the Asociación de Actores y Especialistas de Riesgo de Alicante who performed stunt shows at both Mini Hollywood, the former set for El Paso and Texas Hollywood. This led to stunt roles in "Rustler’s Rhapsody" (1985) and in the western TV series "Queen of Swords" (2000-2001). Today Antonio is a security guard and author and lives in Caserío El Campello, Valenciana, Spain. Today we celebrate Antonio Ruiz’s 60th birthday.
